Middle School

Cathy Russell

Mrs. Russell has 29 years of experience in education, and most of that experience has been spent serving in the middle school grades. She spent 20 years teaching, while her last nine years have been in administration. Mrs. Russell and her husband are both members of First Baptist Church in Pontotoc. TCPS Middle School consists of grades 6-8 and offers both electives and a Biblically-integrated instructional curriculum. Electives include activities such as art, music, physical education, computer, creative writing, drama/speech, chorus, and personal finance. In addition, the middle school offers a variety of sports opportunities, clubs, and other fun activities. Students worship in chapel each Monday, which includes a guest speaker and worship time. Each year, middle school kicks off with a school-wide retreat to Camp Lake Stephens filled with worship, fellowship, food, and fun!
Another exciting experience takes place in the spring, as the 6th graders pack their bags to embark on an unforgettable traveling experience to Washington D.C. As for the 8 th grade, students attend a career expo each year.
The middle school welcomed seventeen new students and five new teachers this year! Both students and faculty have a sincere passion for teaming together in creating a positive, safe, and Christ-centered atmosphere to live by Colossians 3:23-24.
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. –Colossians 3:23-24
